i) JEREMY Volume 1, No. 1 (London: Jeremy Enterprises [c. July] 1969). Glossy magazine format. 50pp. Photo-illustrated throughout. Published by Peter L. Marriott; edited by Chris Jones. The premiére issue of the first gay magazine to appear in the UK following the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1967, describing itself in its editorial as intended "for people who simply don't care about sex - one way or the other. Who have got their values straight." The coy front cover photo depicts both a naked young man and a naked young woman ("Alan and Barbara"). Contents include news of Peter Blake at the Robert Fraser Gallery; fashion; an article on Judy Garland; Barry Gibb's wardrobe; 3pp. on 'Midnight Cowboy'; brief pieces on Ken Russell, Steve McQueen, Christopher Lee, and others. Lower edge of front cover smoke-darkened from the fire years ago in Felix Dennis's archive, o/w Very Good.

ii) JEREMY - THE MAGAZINE FOR MODERN YOUNG MEN No. 1, Volume 1 (London: Jeremy Publications, April 1969). Edited and published by Peter L. Marriott. Glossy magazine format. 46pp. Photo-illustrated throughout. Probably a pre-launch pilot, produced in order to solicit advertising (ads. for Jeremy first appeared in It #50 in February 1969 and Oz #19 in March), featuring completely different content from the first published issue. Includes articles on fashion, grooming and cooking; a portfolio of Ortil's beach photographs; film, theatre, record and book reviews; cartoons; and short fiction. Corner crease to back cover, o/w Very Good. Jeremy closed in 1972 due to financial problems, and was followed soon after by the appearance of Jeffrey.
