An original poster printed by the Paddington Printshop, featuring the slogan "Occupy Empty Houses Now". 1975 (?).

Silkscreen, printed in black on white stock. 69.2x48.9cm. The illustration depicts a large bird sitting on the roof of an empty building with a bag of cash in its beak ("A Mammon-Parasite Development"). The backdrop portrays numerous office blocks bearing various corporate names ("Allied-Extortion", "Mammon House", "Parasite Enterprises", "Plague Chemicals").


The squatters' own estate agent, Ruff, Tuff, Creem Puff, gave advice on newly-vacant buildings, and Joe Strummer, then known as John 'Woody' Mellor, was housed by the Maida Hill Squatters and Tenants Association at 101 Walterton Road.
