Minutes To Go.

Paris: Two Cities Editions, 1960. First edition. Wrps. SIGNED by William Burroughs and Brion Gysin on the title page (the signatures appear to be contemporary). The book's back cover features calligraphy by Brion Gysin and its design was intended by publisher Jean Fanchette to resemble his Two Cities magazine, which later printed work by Burroughs and Corso (they were first introduced to him by Sinclair Beiles, who worked at the magazine).

The book was printed in an edition of 1000 copies in April 1960 and launched with a party at Gaït Frogé's English Bookshop (Frogé bailed out Fanchette by paying the printer's $300 bill). The origins of its title are variously attributed to Sinclair Beiles (by Gysin), to Burroughs (by Beiles), and by Burroughs himself to an overheard resident of the Beat Hotel yelling to his companion to hurry up because they were late.

Faint top corner crease to lower wrapper; spine slightly faded, as usual; o/w a tight, Near Fine copy of the first collection of cut-ups, signed by its two most important contributors.
