Bomb. Gregory CORSO.

SF: City Lights, 1958. First edition, second state (without publisher's ad. for 'The Vestal Lady On Brattle' on the back). Single leaf printed in black on both sides, folded into fourths. SIGNED in blue ink by Corso on the back (the signature appears to be contemporary).

Corso wrote 'Bomb' in three or four days during the late summer of 1958 while living in room 41 at the Beat Hotel. Lawrence Ferlinghetti visited Corso at the hotel around the same time, agreeing to publish it as a mushroom-cloud-shaped broadside, reflecting Corso's original typed paste-up and his intention that the text's layout should resemble an atomic cloud.

Mild age-toning to edges, and light handling wear, o/w Near Fine. Along with 'Howl', one of the most important early poetic statements of the Beat movement.
