GLOBAL GROOVE.

Poster advertising a screening of Nam June Paik's video 'Global Groove' on WNET TV (New York), October 2, 1974. Printed offset in black on white paper. 47.6x32.5cm. Designed by Jim McWilliams, reproducing a Peter Moore photo of Charlotte Moorman and Nam June Paik. Folded twice for mailing; two tape 'ghosts' from having been sealed for mailing; o/w Near Fine. This copy bears Charlotte Moorman's stamped sender's address on the verso, added to which she has written out her name and phone number in red ink, along with Nam June Paik's address. Moorman has addressed it on the verso to Bob Fass, the New York-based pioneer of free-form countercultural radio, and embellished it with with her trademark heart symbol, though the stamp has not been franked so presumably it didn't make it (many posters and flyers addressed by Moorman were never actually mailed).

Paik produced his videotape while working as an artist-in-residency at the TV Lab at WNET-TV/Channel 13, and it starred, among others, Allen Ginsberg, Susan Bottoms, Charlotte Moorman, Jud Yalkut, and John Cage, all of whom are listed on the poster.
