Marin City, CA: The Gate 5 Ensemble, 1954. Double LP record, original first pressing made in Burbank on red 'vinylite' ("a Harry Partch Trust Fund First Edition"). The culmination of Partch's Speech-Music period, and the second of his self-released records, performed by The Gate 5 Ensemble under the direction of the composer, and conducted by Jack Hohensee, with the part of Oedipus sung by Allan Louw. The production's Manager is credited as Gerd Stern, who, as a cast member, also played the part of the Messenger, and later went on to co-found the McLuhanite multimedia art collective, USCO. Discs Excellent in somewhat worn sleeve (seam split along upper edge and partial split to lower edge).
