None Shall Escape: Caribbean Situationist versus Trevor Menroe (sic).

London: Caribbean Situationist, July 1973. LP record, with accompanying poster (58x46.3cm.). A scarce record featuring Fundi, a Jamaican Situationist, describing the resistance against hierarchical forms of organisation by Caribbean radicals such as Trevor Munroe, a local pro-Soviet Marxist-Leninist.

The poster prints English translations of texts by Raoul Vaneigem ('Radical Subjectivity') and Guy Debord ('Thesis 90' from 'The Society of the Spectacle'), and advertises the availability of the LP, accompanied by an illustration of the record sleeve's front cover (a map of the Caribbean with an explanatory legend describing areas of political unrest, revolt and strikes throughout the region during the previous ten years). A handwritten text reproduced in facsimile on the sleeve's back cover features Fundi's personal account of his first-hand experiences with collective revolt in Jamaica, in particular in the parish of Westmoreland, the area of Jamaica with the largest meat packing plant and the largest sugar refinery in the Caribbean outside of Cuba. Fundi had previously worked as a refrigeration mechanic at Western Meat Packers and was involved in the first strike in the history of Western Meat packers when a female co-worker was fired for refusing to stand in a puddle while working on the assembly line. Later, he went on to organise and support autonomous workers' actions and resist trad-left union bureaucracy in "the total task of ending capitalism".

Disc Near Mint; remnant of small price sticker to front cover of sleeve and small ink name to back cover; slightly rubbed, o/w Very Good plus. Poster folded centrally vertically and horizontally, as issued, o/w Near Fine. The poster occasionally turns up as a separate item; the record rarely surfaces, especially with the poster.
