STYNG #5 (Hull: 9th September, 1971).

Ed. Roger Hutchinson. Tabloid newspaper format. 20pp. Contains "Porn Yawn Pickle", a report on the police charges brought against Genesis P-Orridge and Haydn Nobb for publishing an indecent advertisement featuring COUM's penis logo (the charges were later dropped).

The ad was displayed in a shop window, on the wall of a house, and on the boot of a car, and formed part of COUM's petition against their unofficial ban from performing in local clubs (after their gig, 'Riot Control', at the Gondola Club, COUM were blamed by other clubs for its closure following a police raid).

The petition succeeded in COUM gaining a booking at the Brickhouse, an alternative music venue based in a refurbished old Methodist Church in Hull, though P-Orridge's report on it, published in FRENDZ, resulted in a riposte from the club's manager, Rick Welton, printed in FRENDZ #15 (London: 25th November, 1971), this issue also included here.

STYNG #5 Near Fine; FRENDZ #15 Very Good plus.
