Original handwritten flyer announcing Throbbing Gristle at the Rat Club, Pindar of Wakefield Pub, Gray's Inn Road, London, 22nd May, 1977.

B/w. 29.8x21cm. Printed by Walkerprint. Gig info written out in black marker pen over original TG publicity sheet reprinting press cuttings from the ICA 'Prostitution' show (with rubber stamps added in the print). Press photo shows Siouxsie Sioux, Soo Catwoman and Steve Severin at the ICA.

This impromptu flyer, announcing TG's first London gig since the ICA show, appears to be the handiwork of Genesis P-Orridge, and the former record company executive from whom it was acquired has stated this to be the case.

Simon Ford notes that the audience for the gig was around 150, and quotes Chris Carter in a letter to Paul Buck: "The gig was great, a full house. Really sleazy, with a stripper and a country jazz band and dirty films and cartoons. 75% of the people loved it. And believe it or not, but nobody walked out till after we had finished." (Ford 7.10). A short segment recorded at the gig appeared on TG's debut album.

Some overall creasing, o/w Very Good plus. Rare, possibly unique.
