HOT ROD HOOTENANNY Featuring The Weirdos and the Voice of Mr. Gasser.

Los Angeles: Capitol, nd. (1965). Original mono LP record (T2010). Front cover art by Ed Roth.

Capitol Records' attempt to cash in on hot rod mania - "Hot Rod Hootenanny... is simply hot rod songs sung and played hootenanny style... some funny, some straight, all rockin' and swingin' ". Ed Roth ('Mr.Gasser') and Gary Usher's band (The Weirdos) were made up of Phil Spector's Wrecking Crew, who included Leon Russell, Glen Campbell, Hal Blaine, Billy Strange, Jimmy Bond, Tommy Tedesco, Carol Kaye, Barney Kessel, Jerry Cole, and others. Car Craft's editor Dick Day helped write the lyrics with Roth to songs such as "Termites in My Woody" and "The Fastest Shift Alive".

Disc Near Mint in original inner sleeve; cover slightly rubbed, with small surface loss to front cover, probably from old price sticker removal, but clean, bright, and no seam splits.
