TRIP STRIP NO. 1 (Np. [Brighton, Sussex], nd. [c. May 1970]).

4to. 24pp. (incl. cover).

The only issue of the first British head comic, drawn and screenprinted by Tony Bennett and Neil Dean in an edition of 2000 copies. Accompanied by a typed letter signed from Tony Bennett, dated 6th May 1970, requesting a review (presumably from Oz magazine, as both the comic and letter were acquired from the Felix Dennis Estate) and providing brief background information (Bennett later became the UK's leading underground comic distributor and co-founded Knockabout Comics in 1980).

The cover price states 3/-, but Tony Bennett told this cataloguer that most copies were given away at free concerts in Hyde Park and elsewhere.

Partial darkening to upper spine, o/w Very Good plus. Scarce (not mentioned in David Huxley's book, 'Nasty Tales: Sex, Drugs, Rock'n'Roll and Violence in the British Underground', 2001).
