NY: W.W. Norton & Company, Inc., 1974. First edition. Qtr. cloth. 502pp. + 26pp. + 24pp. photo-inserts.

The book takes its title from the apocalyptic race war Charles Manson believed would occur, and who named it after the Beatles song on the White Album he mistakenly assumed had something to do with hell. Bugliosi, the chief prosecutor in the 1970 trial, presents his firsthand account of the cases of Manson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, and other members of the Manson Family, and recounts the circumstantial evidence demonstrating that Manson had orchestrated the killings. It subsequently won an Edgar Award and became the bestselling crime book in US history.

Very Good plus in Near Fine dw. (flaps slightly tanned).
