Piero Heliczer's room (chambre 20) was located a few doors away from the small hotel at 39 rue Descartes where Hemingway once rented an attic room (and where Verlaine had died 25 years before), and a short walk from his printing press at the Maison pour tous on rue Mouffetard. Piero later moved to a room above a café in nearby Place de la Contrescarpe.
