The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again).

NY: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc., 1975. First edition. 8vo. Qtr. cloth. 242pp.

SIGNED in full by Warhol on the half-title page ("to Ramona"), with the addition of a magic marker line drawing of a Campbell's soup can and the words "Campbells Soup".

A bright, Near Fine copy in dw. (short diagonal crease to upper right corner of upper panel).

Warhol promoted the book in September 1975 on a nine-city American book tour, followed by visits to Italy, France and England. Much of the material, a collection of riffs on "work, success, fame, love, beauty", was drawn from taped interviews with Warhol by Pat Hackett, and from conversations Warhol taped between himself, Bob Colacello and Brigid Berlin.

In October 2019 it was announced that a previously unheard cassette tape dating from 1975 had been unearthed at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, featuring Lou Reed sketching out a suite of new songs using phrases from the book as raw material for lyrics.
