POP-OP ROCK.

Original handbill reproducing in miniature the Wes Wilson-designed poster (BG-8) in black on bright pink paper. Announces 'Bill Graham Presents Andy Warhol and His Plastic Inevitable with The Velvet Underground and Nico 'Pop Girl of '66?' plus The Mothers' at the Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, May 27-29, 1966. 21.5x14cm. Verso blank.

An east-west culture clash exemplifying the different sensibilities in music, dress style and drugs of choice, this ill-starred series of weekend concerts at the Fillmore was marked by mutual antagonism between everyone concerned: the Velvet Underground and promoter Bill Graham, the Velvets and San Francisco's hippie community, and Lou Reed and Frank Zappa, whose animosity towards each other continued long after.

Old central horizontal fold; slight creasing along left edge, and faint crease to lower edge. Overall, Very Good.
