ANDY WARHOL'S VELVET UNDERGROUND.

Original handbill announcing a Boston Tea Party with 'Andy Warhol's Velvet Underground' at 53 Berkeley Street on May 26-27 (1967), their first performances at what would become one of their favourite venues. Artwork printed in purple on pale blue stock. 28x21.5cm. Artist unknown (credited as Dolphin Design).

These concerts are sometimes referred to as Nico's last appearance with the band, and an earlier flyer for them lists Nico, but although she turned up for the last song of the second show the band refused to let her on stage and she was fired soon afterwards.

Two small, faint brown marks; slight handling wear and light creasing, with old horizontal crease visible from the verso only.
