Magick Lantern Cycle.

NY: Film-makers' Cinematheque, (March) 1966. 4to. Twelve loose sheets (nine of them on thick card stock, three on thin coloured paper), bound with a clear plastic spine clip. Programme designed by Kenneth Anger for "A Special Presentation in celebration of The Equinox Spring 1966", held at Jonas Mekas's Film-makers' Cinematheque in New York.

Prints details of the films screened ('Kustom Kar Kommandos', 'Fireworks', 'Eaux d'artifice', 'Scorpio Rising', 'Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome', and a prelude titled 'Anger Aquarian Arcanum' in which Anger showed slides of occult symbols associated with Aleister Crowley); a capsule biography of Anger (written by Anger, who refers to himself in Crowleyite fashion as "the Most Monstrous Moviemaker in the Underground"); Crowley's poem, 'One Star in Sight'; film stills; Anger's collage, 'The Golden Grope of Marilyn Monroe'; and Chester Kessler's famous photograph of him to back cover.

The programme notes that during the first of two brief intermissions "Psychedelic researchers desirous to Turn On for Pleasure Dome should absorb their sugar cubes at this point" (the manufacture and sale, though not possession, of LSD was made illegal in the US several months later).

Tiny lower right corner wear to front cover, o/w Near Fine.
