London: The Do-Not Press Limited, 2004. First edition. 12mo. 192pp.

SIGNED and inscribed by Farren to Felix Dennis on the title page, with the latter's bookplate to front pastedown, annotated in pencil below with the date "Sept 04".

A nice association copy, connecting one stalwart of the underground press to another (Oz editor Felix Dennis later described his friend and sometime editor of IT as a "doorman, editor, journalist, rock star, rabble rouser, critic and commentator, charlatan, jester, impresario, gunslinging cross-dresser, icon, author, songwriter, poet".) A long-time admirer of Gene Vincent (along with Elvis and other rockers, who he correctly believed should have their place in the countercultural pantheon), Farren wrote his obituary for IT, and early in his own musical career he envisioned himself, like his outlaw hero, "clinging to a mike stand in a bike jacket and one black glove" ("Give the Anarchist a Cigarette", p.34). Includes supplementary sections on Vincent's recording sessions and a discography.
