Klarwein's first book of paintings, documenting the 'Aleph Sanctuary' (dedicated to "the undefined religion of everything"), a work of 70 painted panels that took him ten years to complete (two of which became well-known as album covers for 'Bitches Brew' and 'Abraxas').

Mati Klarwein's German Jewish parents escaped from the Nazis by moving to Palestine in 1934, and he later added the name Abdul to his own because he felt that every Jew ought to adopt a Muslim name and every Muslim ought to adopt a Jewish name in order to help overcome the hatred that engulfed his homeland.

Vertical rippling to laminate cover (production flaws, as usual); slight bend to lower right corners; o/w Very Good plus.
