GAY SUNSHINE #4 (Berkeley, CA: December 1970).

Ed. Winston Leyland. Tabloid newspaper, folded, as issued. 20pp.

Centrespread 'Genderfuck poster' featuring a large b/w photograph portraying Wally, Marshall and two other Cockettes (unidentified by this cataloguer). The caption below prints 'Gender Fuck' in bold lettering, an early written appearance of the term predating by more than three years Christopher Lonc's article in the same publication, "Genderfuck and Its Delights".

The Cockettes also feature in a poem by troupe member Goldie Glitters (half-page, with sm. photo), and in a letter addressed to them collectively by a female fan lamenting the lack of security after her girlfriend had been harassed and physically attacked by a redneck "Marlboro Man" at one of their shows; the letter ends with "Put a stop to Machismo! All power to sex-role confusion."

Also: The Gay Liberation Movement in NYC; "Women's Liberation and Gay Liberation: An Alliance for the Seventies" by Varda Ono; a report from the Minneapolis GLF Conference; "Subversion in the Women's Movement" by Martha Shelley; "The Emperor's New Clothes by Pat Maxwell A Transexual"; Gay Switchboard; illustrations; poetry; more.

Pages tanned and brittle, o/w Very Good.
