Original poster announcing The Cockettes, the GTOs, The Stooges and John Mendelsohn, Superstar at the Hollywood Palladium, July 16 (1971). Screenprinted on silver metallic foil in pink and black. 65.9x28.6cm. What would surely have been an unbelievable gig was cancelled after Iggy Pop and James Williamson quit The Stooges, and/or the LAPD got jittery after a Playboy article on The Cockettes and Lawrence Welk, the club's owner, decided to bail after hearing that The Cockettes were going to expose themselves.
