COTTON CLUB CABARET + FLAMING HOT EROTICA EXOTICA.

An original handbill announcing the Angels of Light in 'Cotton Club Cabaret' and 'Flaming Hot Erotica Exotica' at 330 Grove St., San Francisco, October 2-4 (1971). Printed in black on orange stock. Illustrated with a large photograph of Marilyn Monroe, embellished by pink lipstick traces from a kiss planted on her forehead. Venue address written out in red marker pen. 27.8x21.6cm.

330 Grove Street was a commercial loft space rented by filmmaker Gregory Pickup and used by the Angels of Light for rehearsals and performances. His 1973 film of them, 'Pickup's Tricks', profiles Hibiscus and features Allen Ginsberg in drag with a painted-on third eye singing from Blake's 'Songs of Innocence'. The same location later housed The Movement Press and numerous punk concerts.
