"Gay: A Photographic Essay" prints a further 16 photographs by Friedkin over six pages, including one of two men waiting in line at the Palace Theatre in San Francisco in 1972, and one of Cyclona (Robert Legoretta), a queer Chicano performer active in East Los Angeles from 1966 and precursor to the West Coast/Cockettes psychedelic drag/genderfuck scene.
