A beautiful and extravagantly illustrated celebration of The Cockettes, filled with colour and b/w photographs by, among others, Robert Altman, Joshua Freiwald, Clay Geerdes, Peter Hujar, Gilles Larrain, Mary Ellen Mark, Billy Maynard, Scott Runyan, David Wise, as well as many from the private collection of the book's author and founding member of The Cockettes, Fayette Hauser.
Although primarily visual, the book also includes conversations with John Waters and Peter Coyote, profiles of many of the troupe's members, and contributions from Maureen Orth, Pam Tent, Peter Mintun, Sebastian, David Weissman, and Bill Weber, together with a chronology of shows by The Cockettes and reproductions of posters and handbills.
