Original programme for The Living Theatre's production of 'Frankenstein' at the Roundhouse, north London, June 1969. Single folio sheet, folded once to make 4pp. Printed in black on pink paper stock. Measures 36.3x25.8cm. when folded. Illustrated on the front with a photograph of the set, a collage of scenes from the action in the centrespread, and a drawing by Birgit Knabe on the back [item #68].

The second page prints Julian Beck's synopsis of the three-act play, as printed in English for the first time in International Times #2 [item #46]; page three prints quotes from Eric Gutkind's book, 'The Absolute Collective' (Beck and Malina attended his lectures in 1958); and page four lists the complete cast and their characters in all three acts, along with details of performance dates, prices, etc.

Designed and printed by Bill Levy (who was asked by the producer Oscar Lewenstein to promote The Living Theatre at the Roundhouse), and originally handed out for free at the performances.
