LIVING THEATRE PHOTOGRAPHS.

A group of 8 vintage b/w photographs featuring members of The Living Theatre.

i) 8x10 photograph by Rolling Stone photographer Robert Altman of Birgit Knabe (Gypsy) and Nona Howard (Luna), probably taken in San Francisco (Golden Gate Park?) c. March 9, 1969. SIGNED and dated ('69) on the verso in pencil by the photographer. Slight wear;

ii) two group photographs of The Living Theatre commune in Grenoble in 1969, one (or both) by Jul Som, and one of them inscribed on the verso: "Made in Grenoble on the 4. April Love Günter" [Pannewitz]. 13x18cm. + 10.4x14.8cm.;

iii) two photographs, one of Julian Beck speaking on a hallway payphone, the other of Judith Malina in a hotel bedroom. Photographer, locations and dates unknown. 21.9x17.2cm. + 11.8x15cm. Pencilled notes to margins;

iv) two large b/w studio photographs by Ronald Sweering of Living Theatre actors Frank Hoogeboom and Sandy van der Linden with an unidentified young woman and small girl (plus one just of the young woman and girl). Photographer's stamp to versos, Amsterdam, c. 1969. Each 30x24cm. Slightly creased. Both Hoogeboom and Van der Linden performed in 'Paradise Now'. The little girl is possibly Van der Linden's daughter, Radha (and the young woman her mother). Van der Linden and his daughter Radha were recently identified as the models for a lifesize sculpture in Ibiza (based on another photograph of them walking together in Vondelpark, Amsterdam in 1968), which was created to represent the island's hippie past.
