Item #39096 JOHN and YOKO LENNON.

112.

JOHN and YOKO LENNON.

London: Apple Records, 1971. Original promotional glossy 10x8 b/w photograph of John and Yoko in Battery Park, New York, probably taken by Iain Macmillan, who shot the cover photograph for 'Abbey Road' in 1969 and worked with John and Yoko until 1971.

Lennon is pictured wearing his famous US army issued OG-107 fatigue utility shirt, later worn by him at the 'One To One' benefit concert on August 30, 1972 at Madison Square Garden. He also wore it for his appearance on the Dick Cavett TV show on September 11, 1971, when he explained how he came by the shirt: "It's very funny, I was in the German Airport, I had an American Army mac on and a guy came up and said, I just got out of the Army in Vietnam and if you'd like these clothes I'd love to give them to you, 'I said alright', and he sent me all these Army clothes in the post. A few years ago it was."

Upper edge slightly creased; tiny left edge tear; o/w Very Good plus.
