ARCHIGRAM #9 (London: 1970).

Ed. Peter Cook. Cover by Tony Rickaby. Ten oblong unnumbered sheets (each 25x41cm.), stapled at one end, with central fold to make booklet, accompanied by a packet of Night Scented Stock seeds. Printed in different colour inks on different colour paper stock.

The final, ecology-themed issue ("Gardening and the easing of tension between the mechanical and the natural is a theme in this issue"), proclaiming: "We are following our dreams yet further and seeing now a gentler softer and more tantalising environment... the next move is with the activist, the opportunist and the inventor in league...".

The issue's underlying theme of communication is highlighted by both the introduction of the 'Archizones' project ("Archigram's International Exchange"), intended to locate and connect innovative architects and groups across the world, and the recognition of an international network of architectural magazines (the Whole Earth Catalog is identified as part of the North American 'Archizone').

Also features an 'Osakagram page', intended as a guide to anybody using the capsule (part of Expo 70). The penultimate page reproduces Archigram's 'Good Luck 1970' design (also sent out separately by them as a card), which name checks the Utopie group and incorporates Jean-Paul Jungmann's Dyodon.

A very Near Fine copy, with original packet of flower seeds still attached, as issued.
