Domebook One.

Los Gatos, CA: Pacific Domes, 1970, second printing (August 1970). Sm. Folio. Wrps., 56pp. Illustrated throughout with photographs, drawings and diagrams.

The countercultural bible of domebuilding, "Put together in 14 days at the Whole Earth Catalog production garage" by Shelter and Land Use editor for the Catalog, Lloyd Kahn, together with geodesic dome pioneer and fellow Catalog staffer Jay Baldwin, plus Kathleen Whitacre, Robert Easton et al, with help from Ant Farm, Zomeworks and many others.

Describing itself as "our attempt at communicating the state of the art of domebuilding", the publication inspired countless commune builders to create their own dome homes, which were viewed by many of them as representing a holistic way of life that embraced both technology and the counterculture in a mutually reinforcing symbiosis.

In the 'unclassifieds' section at the back, Ant Farm advertise their services as "air buildings, nomadic visions", and the facing page prints a half-page photograph of the fifty-by-fifty-foot pillow they were experimenting with for a planned event called the Mt. Fuji Rock Festival.

Small spot to front cover, which shows some age-toning; slight wear to spine; o/w Very Good plus.
