FAR OUT WEST.

SF: Performing Arts Social Society, 1976. First (and only) printing. 4to. 36pp. Written and drawn by Even Eve (Eve Furchgott), a founding member of the Kerista commune in Haight-Ashbury.

Billed as "The First Utopian Comic Strip" (installments of which had previously appeared in Utopian Eyes, the commune's journal [item #158], and its earlier free newspaper, The Storefront Classroom), the comic contains one long quasi-autobiographical story starring Polly Morfus, a 21-year-old woman seeking "the one and only [trip] that leads to the righteous high!". Guided by a supercomputer (illustrated on the front cover), Polly pursues her path by opening a number of doors that lead to various "trips", ultimately choosing to live in a "committed commune".

Very Good.
