Day-Glo pink front cover prints mutated image of radio and television personality Art Linkletter with a Mickey Mouse CIA acid tab.

The second of only four issues, and the first in magazine format. Its editorial states: "the hope now is that we can create an attractive enough alternative mythos to the armageddon mandate, one that will encourage creative anti-authoritarianism, visionary courage, human decency and tolerance, and optimistic exaltation. We're not talking here about new age polyannism. We're accelerating to the point where speciecide or ex-stasis occur in wink-of-the-eye movements… If we stay high, keep our visions alive… we might get a miracle."

Contents include extracts from a conversation between Ram Dass and Peter Stafford; an interview with Robert Anton Wilson by Elizabeth Gips; "Psychopharmacognosticon" by Terence McKenna; Gracie and Zarkov on LSD and MDA; "Yippie vs. Yuppie: A Yummie Commentary" by R.U. Sirius; sculptor Joseph Slusky; an interview with Paul Krassner; datura (a wild plant hallucinogen); reviews and ads.

Influenced by William Burroughs, Robert Anton Wilson, Timothy Leary and the Whole Earth Catalog, Ken Goffman founded High Frontiers in 1984, retitled it Reality Hackers in 1988, and retitled it again as Mondo 2000 in 1989, a serial mutation reflecting his eclectic blend of art, psychotropic drugs and technology.
