Original handbill announcing 'Good, Clean Fun with the MC5 and Cloud' at The Ark, Boston, Massachusetts, June 16-18, 1969.

Printed in red and blue on white stock. 28x21.7cm. Hippie-style artwork with illustrations of flowers (possibly ironic) by Emmanuel.

The MC5's Boston residency coincided with the Ann Arbor riots, three days of pitched battles between rock-throwing 'freeks' and riot-trained police. In response J. Edgar Hoover ordered that actions be taken to monitor, disrupt and damage the White Panther Party, who he believed had co-ordinated the revolt, and the subsequent police repression culminated in John Sinclair's arrest and imprisonment.

Fine.
