Guitar Army. Rock & Revolution with MC5 and The White Panther Party.

LA: Process Media, 2007. 8vo. Wrps., 302pp. New edition, with an introduction by Michael Simmons and including previously unpublished photographs.

SIGNED and inscribed by the author on the title page to the pot campaigner Steve Abrams: "For Steve - thanks a million! With love John Sinclair London 10-11-2008".

An interesting association copy since both Abrams and Sinclair, born three years apart, were from the Midwest and both committed themselves to cannabis law reform. Famously, Abrams organised the full-page advertisement petitioning for reform which appeared in The Times in July 1967, an idea launched in the wake of John 'Hoppy' Hopkins' bust and the arrests of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger on drug charges. In January of the same year the Detroit Narcotics Bureau busted Sinclair and more than 50 associates at Wayne State University, a notorious arrest in which he was tricked by undercover drugs officers and one that ultimately led to his lengthy prison sentence for 'possessing two cigarettes containing 11.5 grains of Cannabis sativa'.

CD attached inside lower wrapper features recordings of the MC5, Artists' Workshop Music Ensemble, Up, Bobby Seale, Allen Ginsberg, White Panther Party meetings, John Sinclair himself, and more.

Fine, with plastic CD sleeve unopened.
