COME TOGETHER #4 (London: GLF Media Workshop, c. February 1971).

4to. Wrps., 16pp. The fourth issue of the Gay Liberation Front's newspaper (the first three issues were duplicated and the issues following this one were published in a tabloid-size format).

The GLF was founded by students Bob Mellors and Aubrey Walter after encountering the American gay liberation movement at the Black Panther Revolutionary People's Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1970 (the first GLF was formed in New York City in 1969 following the Stonewall riots).

Come Together was started shortly after the GLF's first meeting, held at the LSE on October 13, 1970, and Walter contributes an article to this early issue, "The Importance of Participation of the Base in the GLF" (Mellors later drew up the manifesto). In September 1971 the GLF disrupted the Festival of Light's mass rallies in London with a series of actions, code-named Operation Rupert after the Rupert Bear cartoon in the 'Schoolkids' issue of Oz magazine (a benefit event for which is advertised on p.7).
