SIGNED by Ken Kesey in bold lettering on the front free endpaper. In addition, Kesey has hand-marbled the board covers of this copy in swirling psychedelic yellow, purple and blue oil paints, one of a small number of individually hand decorated copies he made later in life, decades after he first began experimenting with marbling techniques while dropping acid and travelling on the bus ‘Furthur’.
This unique example of the book, which documents the Merry Pranksters’ epic, acid-fuelled coast-to-coast 1964 voyage in their bus and prints verbatim transcripts of Neal Cassady monologues, was acquired in Oregon directly from Kesey’s son, Zane.
