The first five issues published by Michael R. Aldrich (co-edited with Ed Sanders) and sponsored by LeMar International (the first cannabis legalisation organisation); the sixth issue published by Amorphia, The Cannabis Cooperative, with which LeMar merged. Cover artists/photographers include John Chick, Leni Sinclair and Dana Young; logo by Robin Sommers.

A run of the first six issues of the first journal devoted to all aspects of cannabis use (three further issues were published, the last in September 1973).

Correspondents listed include John Sinclair (Trans-Love Energies, Ann Arbor); d.a. levy (Cleveland); Steve Abrams (SOMA, London); Nick Rochford (Compendium Books, London); Miles (Indica Bookshop, London); Caroline Coon (Release, London); Peter Stafford (NY); and Rosemary Leary (Berkeley).

Contributors include Mike Aldrich; Ed Sanders; Timothy Leary (including the first separate printing of his response to Ken Kesey’s published letter to him [also printed], and “Tim Leary's Escape Letter”); Allen Ginsberg (including the only appearance of his prose piece, “Air Opium”, 2pp.); Lawrence Ferlinghetti; Robert Creeley; Anselm Hollo; Michael McClure; John Giorno; John Sinclair (“The Marijuana Revolution”); Kim Deitch; Aram Saroyan; and William Burroughs (the only appearance of “Carrion Road”, described by him in his preliminary letter to the editor [also printed] as a “skit based on Dr. Lynch’s ridiculous [cannabis] experiments”, 2pp.).

Some age-related toning to newsprint, with partial offsetting to front cover of issue #6; small nicks to front cover fore-edge of #2; lower corner of #5 slightly creased; o/w Very Good plus overall.

Individual issues are scarce, especially the early ones, which were printed in very small numbers, and unbroken runs even more so.
