Iain Sinclair and Robert Klinkert’s colour documentary film of Allen Ginsberg’s visit to London for the Dialectics of Liberation conference in the summer of 1967, together with a bonus film featuring interviews with Sinclair, writer/curator Gareth Evans, and Chris Oakley, an associate of RD Laing and David Cooper.
Includes footage of Ginsberg speaking on the conference platform alongside Stokely Carmichael, Emmett Grogan, RD Laing and David Cooper; other sections feature him on Primrose Hill and at the Legalise Pot Rally in Hyde Park, resplendent in the bright red hand-painted silk shirt given to him by Paul McCartney. Glimpses of Brian Patten, Michael X and Jim Anderson at the rally appear fleetingly. Other interviewees include RD Laing and Barry Miles.
A film unseen and unavailable for many years, eventually released on DVD, and since vanished again.
