Malcolm Muir, Jr. Includes quotes from Stuart Montgomery (“one of the school’s organizers”), and Steve Abrams, whose course “on drugs is the most popular” (this copy belonged to Abrams, who has added the article’s page reference on the front cover in red biro and underlined his name in the text in pencil).

Allen Krebs, David Cooper and Joseph Berke are given brief profiles, along with John Latham (“a truly strange figure”), with further mentions of Francis Huxley, Anna Lockwood, Ed Dorn, Bob Cobbing, Barry Flanagan, Ruth First, Asa Benveniste and Roy Battersby, among others.

The article concludes that “Naturally, such institutions attract strange saints.” Subtitled “A window on the world”, Atlas provided a monthly selection of international news and reviews reprinted from publications worldwide. This edition includes a 4pp. interview with Kenneth Tynan by John Osborne reprinted from The Observer.
