Flyer for Charlotte Moorman’s solo debut recital at 2 Pitt Street, New York City on April 15, 1963.

Designed by Carla Willyoung. Printed offset in black on off-white paper stock. 28x21.5cm.

Moorman was assisted in her solo debut by David Tudor, Jacob Glick, Max Neuhaus, Joseph Byrd and Philip Corner, in whose loft the concert was held. Her programme began with a composition by Anton Webern, followed by contemporary works by Joseph Byrd, Earle Brown, Barney Childs, Philip Corner, Morton Feldman, La Monte Young (“Composition 1960 No. 13 to Richard Huelsenbeck”), and John Cage. This was Moorman’s first performance of Cage’s “26'1.1499" for a String Player” (actually just a segment), a work later to become a central and much re-interpreted part of her repertoire.
