The poet’s first book, the publication of which came about after Brown’s reading at the International Poetry Incarnation at the Royal Albert Hall in June 1965 caught the attention of Michael Shayer and Gael Turnbull of Migrant Press. Some of the poems included in the collection previously appeared in Evergreen Review, Horde, Underdog, New Departures, Poetmeat and other small press magazines.
