The book takes its title from a section of “The Soft Machine” and collects a number of pieces, including cut-up and three-column style texts (“Who Is the 3rd…?”, “The Last Post Danger Ahead”, and “From a Distant Hand Lifted”) that had originally appeared in little literary magazines, such as Gnaoua, Spero, Underground Telegram, Kulchur, Darazt, Arcade, Lines, Bulletin from Nothing and Birmingham Bulletin. Also includes an 8pp. piece by Alan Ansen, and Paul Bowles’s essay, “Burroughs In Tangier”.
