Limited edition of 50 numbered copies SIGNED by Charters and McClure (this copy #46); there were also ten lettered copies.
Contains the complete text of Kerouac’s long narrative poem, culled from five notebooks dating from 1956 to 1959, which he dedicated to Lucien Carr, who was the initial inspiration for it. In 1957 he wrote that “it is the only book I’ve ever written in which I allow myself the right to say anything I want, absolutely and positively anything, since that’s what you hear coming in that window... God in his Infinity wouldn’t have had a world otherwise - Amen.” This edition also includes “A piece of Old Angel Midnight”, found in Kerouac’s papers in 1992.
