In the Oil, Flowing Heads.
London: Fulham Gallery, nd. (1968?). Printed offset litho in black on white paper stock (77.5x52cm.). Illustrated with a liquid light projection by Mark Boyle.
A poetry poster designed by Tom Adams printing a poem by George MacBeth, its biomorphic imagery corresponding well with Mark Boyle’s light projections, particularly ‘Son et Lumière for Bodily Fluids and Functions’. Other poets Adams designed and published poetry posters for included Adrian Henri, Christopher Logue, Brian Patten, Ted Hughes and Edward Lucie-Smith (see items #29 and #30).
Best known as an illustrator, notably of book covers for John Fowles, Agatha Christie and Raymond Chandler, Adams opened the Fulham Gallery on the New Kings Road in 1967, and a few years later he was commissioned by Lou Reed to paint the cover for his debut album.
