A group of six consecutive monthly programme leaflets and one flyer, each printing detailed schedules of film screenings at the New Arts Lab, “London’s Underground Cinema”, May 28th-December 19th (1970).
Consists of six illustrated sheets (four measure approx. 25.4x34.2cm. unfolded, two 26.5x38cm.), each folded vertically to make a leaflet, one of them printed in red (illustrated in London’s Arts Labs, p.128), together with a duplicate printed in green, and one in blue (London’s Arts Labs, p.143). Designed by Biddy Peppin. Narrow foolscap flyer, printed in black, recto and verso. One side announces the cinema screening schedule for late September, the other advertises a TVX event that coincided with the NFT’s International Underground Film Festival (“Expanded cinema-video actions by Peter Weibel and Valie Export”). Illustrated with Robert Crumb’s Mr. Natural (London’s Arts Labs, p.132).
Films listed in the schedules include ‘Wavelength’ (Michael Snow); ‘Bike Boy’, ‘Lonesome Cowboys’ , ‘Couch’ (Andy Warhol); ‘The Fall’ (Peter Whitehead); ‘Fuses’ (Carolee Schneemann); ‘Jason’ (Shirley Clarke); ‘Fireworks’, ‘Scorpio Rising’ (Kenneth Anger); ‘The Brig’ (Jonas Mekas); ‘Senseless’, ‘Chumlum’ (Ron Rice), ‘Dirt’, ‘Joan of Arc’, ‘The Autumn Feast’ (Piero Heliczer); as well as programmes of films by Jeff Keen, Maya Deren, Bruce Conner, Stan Vanderbeek, Malcolm Le Grice, Stan Brakhage, Peter Gidal, The Kuchar Brothers, Steve Dwoskin, the Fluxus group, and others.
