Printed schedule for December 16th, 1970-January 11th, 1971 + advertisement flyer for Andy Warhol’s ‘Lonesome Cowboys’.
i) Two gestetnered foolscap sheets, printed recto and verso, stapled at top corner. Designed by Biddy Peppin. Illustrated (this copy with hand-colouring to cartoon in upper right corner of first page). Announces forthcoming performances by The People Show and a series of screenings of Andy Warhol’s ‘Lonesome Cowboys’. Events listed overleaf include concerts by John Tilbury and Cornelius Cardew and the Scratch Orchestra; an exhibition of new music scores; and showings of films by Ron Rice, Stan Brakhage, Peter Gidal, Steve Dwoskin, Fred Drummond, Naomi Levine, Simon Hartog, Malcolm Le Grice, and details of the Warhol dates. Last page prints a map showing the location of the New Arts Lab and a membership application form. Very Good plus. (The original artwork is illustrated in London’s Arts Labs, p.127).
ii) Advertisement flyer. Single quarto sheet, printed in black on white stock, recto and verso. Recto prints the original poster design from the US release of the film (1968), with small photos of Viva, Eric Emerson, Tom Hompertz, Taylor Mead, Louis Waldon, Joe Dallesandro, Francis Francine and Julian Burroughs; verso reprints two contemporary reviews of the film from the Los Angeles Free Press, details of the screening dates and times, and a New Arts Lab membership application form.
