London: Scrudge Books, 2014. First edition. Sm. 4to. Perfect bound wrps., 522pp. Lavishly illustrated with more than 200 photographs in colour and b/w, including images by Adam Ritchie, Hoppy and Ray Stevenson.
The author, who has SIGNED this copy, participated in many performances by the Exploding Galaxy and provides an informed account of the experimental dance drama group and their communal life at 99 Balls Pond Road in Islington. Drawing on personal experience and extensive interviews with former members, she includes twenty in-depth profiles of the people they were then and their lives since the Galaxy ended in 1968. In particular, her interviews with many of the women involved are revealing for the perspectives they give on the sexual revolution as it played out in group and personal relationships.
