Suck Manifesto. Poster + original typescript of Heathcote Williams’s extravagent statement of intent for the newly-created sexpaper he co-founded in 1969 with William Levy, Jim Haynes and Germaine Greer.
i) Small poster printed in red on white paper (35x28cm.), featuring a calligram written and designed by Heathcote Williams in the shape of an ejaculating penis.
SIGNED and dated 1970 by the author, with his ink annotations and the last line written out in holograph. Old central horizontal fold; slight edge-creasing and handling wear, o/w Very Good;
ii) author’s original typescript for the Suck manifesto, dated London 1969, with brief instructions for the printer added. Old central vertical and horizontal folds, o/w Very Good plus.
The manifesto wasn’t printed in Suck, but it did appear with different graphics in the “Wet Dreams” book (item #123), and later in “Manifestos/Manifesten” (item #74), this time as it was originally designed.
Rare in any shape or form, especially together with the author’s original typescript.
