Leaflet announcing the Third Windsor Free Festival, “9 Days from 24th Aug 74”.
Single quarto-size sheet of orange colour paper printed on both sides in black, folded once.
Prints a letter dated June 19th from organiser Ubi Dwyer to the Royal Borough of Windsor notifying them of the planned festival, an OS map showing the site location, and a long list of bands scheduled to appear, among them Byzantium, Ducks Deluxe, Fanny Pimple and the Tulip Bulbs, the Global Village Trucking Company, the John Dummer Band, Why Not Sneeze and The Winkies.
The third Windsor Free Festival was the largest, but also the last, remembered now for the Thames Valley police’s invasion on August 29th and their heavy-handed and forceful removal of thousands of festival-goers from the site.
