Dead Fingers Talk.
London: John Calder, 1963. First edition. Dustwrapper reproduces an Ian Sommerville photo-collage of Burroughs’ Olympia Press editions.
SIGNED and inscribed by Burroughs on the title page to Allen De Loach.
Taking its title from a line in “The Naked Lunch” (“Only dead fingers talk in braille”), Burroughs included sections from “The Naked Lunch” (in a different sequence), “The Soft Machine” and “The Ticket That Exploded”, along with some previously unpublished material in an attempt to create a new novel. There were no equivalent American or French editions.
Very Good plus in price-clipped but otherwise unusually Near Fine dw.
A good association copy (De Loach published work by Burroughs in his magazine, Intrepid, between March 1965 and Winter 1969).
