The first of six rare book catalogues issued by Ed Sanders between June 1964 and September 1965, listing 55 items, including a folio of papers relating to his publication of “Roosevelt After Inauguration” by William Burroughs, a complete (to date) run of Fuck You/a magazine of the arts, and a silk-screened pillow case by Andy Warhol (“this famous & gleaming artist”), priced at $100.00.

The most famous item was Allen Ginsberg’s Ponds Cold Cream jar, “or cock lubricant”, specially inscribed by him, priced at $35.00 and described by Sanders as “A literary document & relic never offered before in the history of western civilisation”. It didn’t sell and Sanders later gave it to Richard Avedon during a Fugs photo shoot.
